MATCH PREVIEW | JDS SPORTING VS COVENTRY BOROUGH

MATCH PREVIEW

Coventry Borough return to league action this Sunday with an away trip to JDS Sporting, just two weeks after the sides met in the cup.

LEAGUE FORM

Borough currently sit 11th after two league games, while JDS are 6th, having won their only league fixture 4–1 against Lillington Juniors.

Borough opened the season with a difficult 10–0 defeat to Khalsa 'C', but showed a much stronger performance last weekend against unbeaten New Spires.

The sides went into half-time level at 2–2, before New Spires scored the decisive goal after the break to win 3–2.

THE REMATCH

The two teams already know each other well.

JDS visited Borough in the cup on 13 September and came away with a 10–2 victory, having led 3–1 at half-time.

Sunday gives Borough an immediate opportunity to show the progress made since that meeting.

THE OPPOSITION

JDS have made an impressive start, beating Lillington 4–1 in the league before their cup victory over Borough.

Their scheduled game against Wroxton last weekend was postponed, meaning this will be their first competitive fixture in two weeks.

BOROUGH

Despite still searching for their first league points, last weekend's performance represented a big improvement.

Borough competed with a New Spires side who currently have three wins from three, eventually losing by just a single goal in the last minute of the game.

The challenge now is to build on that performance against a JDS side Borough already know will provide a tough test.
